What a wonderful breath of help it was when a friend from America, whom I (Ruut) have known for nearly twenty years, came to spend four days working alongside me. Everything became easier and more enjoyable, and my shoulders relaxed simply from the joy of having support.
Together we managed to unload, sort, and distribute an enormous shipment of clothing. Both washing machines were running constantly, the guest rooms were cleaned and organized, and we even completed a major cleaning project.
The highlight of it all was the countless refreshing and enriching conversations and prayers we shared. It was also wonderful to connect with the residents of the village during the Shavuot celebration. We enjoyed the village’s harvest both by admiring it and by tasting it.
Israeli guests continue to visit the guest accommodations in a steady stream, and it is always a joy to read the messages of gratitude they leave in the guest books.
I serve them with a thankful heart. Sometimes unexpected guests arrive as well, and I want to help them too — like this young hawk that found itself in trouble.

You, too, can help in many different ways. What would be the most suitable way for you to get involved?
